encourage all participants to fundraise
or make a donation.

or other fitness activity to social 
media with the tags #NationalWFODay
& @WalkfromObesity. 
Why:  To raise awareness & funds for
Treatment, Research, and Education
to end Obesity.

A Message from Our President

Dear Friends,

This year we commemorate 20 years of the Walk from Obesity, now as TREO Foundation - Treatment, Research, and Education to end Obesity. New strategies and approaches are needed to turn back an epidemic that is only getting worse and affecting the health of more than 100 million Americans. TREO Foundation has an important role to play in bringing much needed attention to the most effective obesity treatments, including metabolic and bariatric surgery.

You can help support our efforts by participating in National Walk from Obesity Day! The work we do is dependent on the support we get from patients, healthcare professionals, and community members who want to make a difference in the fight for treatment and prevention of the disease of obesity. Registration, Fundraising, and Teams

Online Registration

Online registration is FREE and will be available until Saturday,  November 4, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST. Please click "Register Now!" at the top of this page. Since this is a virtual event, registration is only available online. You will have the option to register as an individual, start a team, or join a team.

Fundraising is not required but is strongly encouraged. Also, don't forget to include your preferred t-shirt size and shipping information in case you qualify for our fundraising prizes. All participants will receive a digital event bag by email with information from our National Sponsors the day after they register. 

Starting a Team 

Starting a team when registering, will designate that person as the team captain. The captain will choose the team name and manage the team's online fundraising page. Captain's may share why their team is participating, and upload photos or a company logo. When starting a team, please choose the category that best describes the team type. Categories include:|

Healthcare - hospital, practice, etc.
Corporate - for-profit business
ASMBS State Chapter
General - friends, family, group, etc.
Nonprofit - school, church, 501c3, etc.

The fundraising deadline is Saturday, 11/11/23 at 11:59 PM EST for prize eligibility. 

Individual Fundraising
All participants will automatically receive an online participant/fundraising page. Use this page to fundraise and/or share your story of why you are participating in #NationalWFODay. Please utilize our online fundraising tools (including a Facebook Fundraiser) to help meet fundraising goals and invite family and friends to join the virtual Walk. 

All participants (individuals and team members) can win fundraising prizes and receive achievement badges on their online participant page. If you are part of a team, your individual fundraising efforts will automatically count towards your team's fundraising goal as well.

Fundraising Prizes - All prizes will be mailed after the fundraising deadline of 11/11/2023, unless the participant qualifies for our Early Bird promotion! Participants that raise $100 by October 16th will receive their items early! 

The Top Individual Fundraiser will receive a prize package that includes a $250 gift card from your favorite health & fitness store, and more! See below for details.

Prize eligibility is based on individual efforts only. "Team Donations" will not count towards any individual's efforts.

Team Fundraising 
The top fundraising team across ALL categories will be deemed the National WFO Day Fundraising Champions! The President's Cup Trophy will be awarded to the team captain on behalf of the team! 

*Each team's fundraising is independent of each other. Multiple teams may NOT combine their fundraising dollars to qualify for the category recognition or for the President's Cup Trophy. In order for any individual's fundraising dollars to count towards a team's goal, the individual must be a registered member of that team.
